Gordon Freeman is back! Half-Life 2 picks up some time after the
original Half-Life left off—with Gordon Freeman working for the G-Man in
the seeminly Eastern European City 17. A mysterious alien presence
known as the Combine have taken over Earth, and the once-dominant
species of human beings now have found themselves oppressed victims of
the Combine Overwatch and constantly threatend by the now-numerous Xen
lifeforms on Earth.
With the help of Black Mesa scientists Isaac Kleiner and Eli Vance,
Eli's daughter Alyx, Blue Shift security guard Barney Calhoun and even
the once-hostile vortigaunts, you find yourself with two missions:
staying alive and figuring out what the heck you are doing here!
Half-Life 2 is powered by Valve's internally developed "Source" engine and is available for purchase via Steam, Valve's proprietary content delivery system. Console versions of the game are also available at most retail outlets.
