Chapter 2: "A Red Letter Day"
While
the promise of a red letter day initially sounds intriguing, hinting at
the possibilities of massive savings in all departments, you’ll quickly
come to realize there’s an entirely different meaning attached to it.
Much of this chapter is merely a one way conversation with most of the
main characters. Just follow their instructions and remember that
nothing can hurt you for now. The only item of note is the strange black
and orange object near entrance to the teleportation chamber. Just use
this to give your suit an armor charge 1.
Once your little adventure of teleporting is complete, you’ll need to
drop down from the rafter you’re on, run in between the massive
generators 2, and head right up through
the small passage and up the stairs. Once you’re through the door,
you’ll find yourself face to face with the massive structure of the
Citadel. Barney will also appear to provide you with some guidance and
you’re first weapon of the game, the always reliable crowbar. Bash
through the wooden planks barring your passage ahead of you and head
through the service tunnel. Remember, at any time you can activate your
flashlight in dark areas, just remember to turn it off to recharge your
sprint and oxygen reserves.
From here you’ll find a small hole to drop out of and onto the
railroad tracks below. Once you’re down there, head to your left and
enter into the red train car. Bash through the rubble and give the door a
smack of your trusty crowbar to open up the doors on the opposite end 3.
No sooner than you exit your car however, than you realize that a train
is heading straight at you! To make matters worse, combine guards are
taking potshots at you from above. In order to escape the trap that
would make Snidely Whiplash blush, sprint down the tracks to your right
and bang a left at the opening between two train cars. Take another
immediate left and head into the green car, bash through the rubble, and
climb up the ladder inside. Once you’re on the roof of the car, you’ll
need to make a jump onto the roof of the car to your left and another
jump right over the fence 4. Should you
fall, merely retreat back to the green car. Hurry it up however, as
guards are being air dropped in. Once you make it over the fence, run
straight ahead, bash through the barred opening, and take a left once
you reach the stairs.
Congratulations, you’ve completed about a seventh of the overall
game. Pop a cold one and get ready, cause the next chapter is about to
throw you straight into the fray like a Roman throws a Christian to the
lions.
