Half-Life 2: Episode Two is the second of a trilogy of "expansion"
episodes for Half-Life 2. This episode takes place just after the escape
from City 17, in the surrounding countryside. As with Episode 1, this
game does not require the original Half-Life 2, though it can be
purchased as part of a bigger package (see below). It introduces a few
tweaks to the engine, including motion blur and a new set of impact
decals, as well as a few new enemies.
Valve has revealed that Episodes One through Three are cumulatively
considered by Valve to exist in lieu of Half-Life 3. Episode Two was
bundled in a pack known as "The Orange Box”, which included Portal, Team
Fortress 2, and the original Half-Life 2 and Episode 1.
