There are plenty of weapons to choose from in Episode Two that were developed for the original Half-Life 2, but that's not to say there isn't a helpful addition.

Strider Buster
You'll never need an RPG again
Officially called the Magnusson Device after its creator, these little
football-shaped devices can attach onto Strider's bodies. Once
latched-on a hit from any small arms will cause the Strider to be
demolished immediately. It takes a steady hand to see it latch on, and
the player must be mindful of any Hunters accompanying the Strider, as
they can harmlessly destroy the devices even when they are attached. |
