Half-Life: Opposing Force Storyline
When Corporal Adrian Shephard was mysteriously selected for an
advanced indoor training course, no one knew how much it would change
his life. After a crash course in indoor combat, Shephardand the other
select few in the newly- formed "Hazardous Environment Combat Unit" or
"HECU" were rushed off to the Black Mesa Research Facility. Left in the
dark too long, Adrian's transport is destroyed en route to Black Mesa
and the clueless soldier (along with the others) is left to fend for
himself against the growing army of aliens and zombies.
Awakening in a hospital ward, Shephard finds his head (and a radio)
and starts wandering the immense facility. After meeting back up with
his unit, he gets word of a complete evacuation from Black Mesa.
Fighting to the airfield, Shephard gets the OK to leave—but something
goes wrong. Left behind along with many others, Shepard continues his
journey through Black Mesa in a desperate search for a way out.
Overhearing a conversation between two disgruntled Black Operatives,
Shepard discovers a horrible secret; the Black Ops are not there to
help—not at all. On the contrary, they are planning to blow up Black
Mesa and anything (or anyone) unfortunate enough to still be in the
area.
As if things aren't already bad enough, a new race of more advanced,
intelligent and stronger aliens known as Race X begins invading Earth
just as Gordon Freeman leaves for Xen, leaving it solely up to Shephard
to ward off their malicious intents. With the help of various stranded
members of his unit, Shephard is able to work his way through the sewers
and battle fields of Black Mesa, fighting unthinkably horrifying
enemies along the way.
