Counter-Strike features a total of 23 firearms that can be purchased during the beginning of each round, depending on how much money you have earned through the course of the game (based on killing the enemy, completing objectives, etc.). There are an assortment of weapons that belong to a single faction, but Counter-Strike finds a balance and gives the opposing faction a similar weapon so that neither team develops an unfair advantage.

Combat Knife (Terrorists / Counter-Terrorists) Price: Free Classification: Melee Magazine Capacity: Not Available Rate of Fire: Not Available Actual Weapon Name: Not Available Description: This is the default weapon to all players and cannot be purchased. Use this if you're out of ammo or want to make a stealth kill. The knife can either be used in a quicker motion with less power or a slower and more deadly fashion (primary and secondary fire).

9X19mm Sidearm (Terrorists / Counter-Terrorists) Price: $400 Classification: Pistol Magazine Capacity: 20 Rounds @ 9mm Rate of Fire: Single / 3-Round Burst Actual Weapon Name: Glock 18C Description: The 19X9mm Sidearm is the cheapest firearm in the game and is the default weapon for the Terrorist faction. This pistol can be used with either a single-fire mode (standard) or switched to a three-round burst for quicker firepower, although less accuracy.

K&M .45 Tactical (Terrorists / Counter-Terrorists) Price: $500 Classification: Pistol Magazine Capacity: 12 Rounds @ .45 ACP Rate of Fire: Single Actual Weapon Name: H&K USP .45 Tactical Description: The K&M .45 Tactical is the default weapon for the Counter-Terrorist faction in the game and costs a little more than the standard Terrorist handgun. The .45ACP ammunition packs more of a punch, but holds only 12 rounds. This pistol comes with a silencer (secondary fire).

228 Compact (Terrorists / Counter-Terrorists) Price: $600 Classification: Pistol Magazine Capacity: 13 Rounds @ .357 SIG Rate of Fire: Single Actual Weapon Name: SIG P228 Description: The 228 Compact is a quick-firing pistol with a .367 SIG round. The weapon's main benefit is the speed of which it fires and the lower recoil due to the smaller round of ammunition.

Night Hawk .50C (Terrorists / Counter-Terrorists) Price: $650 Classification: Pistol Magazine Capacity: 7 Rounds @ .50 ACP Rate of Fire: Single Actual Weapon Name: IWI Desert Eagle Description: The Night Hawk .50C is the most powerful handgun in the game with a whopping .50 ACP round. A skilled marksman should be fine with the smaller capacity seven-round magazine, but if your aim isn't the best, then it's not recommended you use this weapon.

.40 Dual Elites (Terrorists) Price: $800 Classification: Pistol Magazine Capacity: 30 Rounds @ 9mm Rate of Fire: Single Actual Weapon Name: Beretta 96G Description: The .40 Dual Elites is the only dual-weapon combo in the game. Combined, the weapons have a 30 round capacity with a 9mm round, making the weapon useful for players who go for quantity over quality when it comes to landing hits on target.

ES Five-Seven (Counter-Terrorists) Price: $850 Classification: Pistol Magazine Capacity: 20 Rounds @ 5.7x28mm Rate of Fire: Single Actual Weapon Name: FN Five-seveN Description: The ES Five-Seven is a strong balance of firepower, accuracy, and magazine capacity. Firing the respectable 5.7x28mm round with a 20 round magazine, the ES Five-Seven will find it's home in the hands of a player with any skill.

Schmidt Machine Pistol (Counter-Terrorists) Price: $1250 Classification: Sub-Machine Gun Magazine Capacity: 30 Rounds @ 9mm Rate of Fire: 800 RPM Actual Weapon Name: Steyr TMP-SD Description: The Schmidt Machine Pistol is the least expensive fully-automatic weapon in the game. It fires a weaker 9mm round, but fires it very rapidly. This weapon also comes silenced for stealth kills and is great for close-quarters maps.

Ingram MAC-10 (Terrorists) Price: $1400 Classification: Sub-Machine Gun Magazine Capacity: 30 Rounds @ .45 ACP Rate of Fire: 900 RPM Actual Weapon Name: Ingram MAC-10 Description: The Ingram MAC-10 is a well-built sub-machine gun that fires the more powerful .45 ACP round with a rapid rate of fire. The MAC-10, however, is woefully inaccurate and used best in close-quarters situations.

It fires the modestly powerful 5.56mm NATO round at a very respectable 1000+ rounds per minute. The rifle has a strong recoil, and to counter-act this, you can switch to a 3-round burst (secondary fire).

While it may fire hard and fast, it boasts a stronger recoil and is woefully inaccurate and is best suited for close-quarter encounters.

The rifle is very accurate, but requires a good marksman to hit his or her target in a kill zone (generally the head) or will simply give away his or position away.

Maverick M4A1 Carbine (Counter-Terrorists) Price: $3100 Classification: Rifle Magazine Capacity: 30 Rounds @ 5.56mm NATO Rate of Fire: 700 RPM Actual Weapon Name: Colt M4A1 Carbine Description: The Maverick M4A1 is a common sight in the American military. This military carbine fires the 5.56mm NATO round, is very accurate, and has relatively low recoil, although should be fired in bursts. The Maverick also comes with a detachable silencer.

Krieg 550 Commando (Counter-Terrorists) Price: $4200 Classification: Sniper Rifle Magazine Capacity: 30 Rounds @ 5.56mm NATO Rate of Fire: Single Actual Weapon Name: SIG SG 550 Sniper Description: The Krieg 550 is a Swiss-made rifle that offers semi-automatic fire with a high-power scope. The Krieg 550 is longer and heavier than its 552 counterpart and makes for a great semi-automatic sniper rifle.

Sporting a 100 round belt of ammunition and firing with very poor accuracy, this weapon is primarily intended to suppress enemies behind cover and to attack groups of enemies.
